Wednesday Nov 21, 2018
The Canadian Criminal Code dictates that there are two ways a person can escape immediate prosecution for a crime. Both centre around the mental health of the offender. One option, is to be deemed not criminally responsible, and the other is the be deemed unfit to stand trial. In today’s episode we talk about both of these outcomes, and what happens in order to get deemed not criminally responsible, and what that means for your prosecution. Is it a get out of jail free card? Marta and Meaghan don’t think so, but we’ll let you come to your own conclusions.
